cleaning lures
I went out to the boat and got a tackle bag out of the water tight storage area to bad some one forgot to lock it down before the big flood the other day. Now I have a bunch of lures covered in ruct mostly rooster tails is there a way to remove the rust without make the lures useless man I hate to buy a whole new box full.

Re: cleaning lures
Well, some brass polish would probaby clean up the metal, but the hooks are probably rusted and will have to be replaced. Then there's the feathering; it's probably all gunked up with rust. So here's the question: even if you clean them up somehow, will you ever have confidence in those lures? I know it hurts to pour $$ down the drain, but it's probably best to just cut your losses and replace them.

Re: cleaning lures
soak them in CLR. Can't hurt if you plan on tossing them anyway.
