Strike king Shad-a-licous
ALL i have to say about these are..... THEY ARE GREAT. Got a few of my colors in the other day ( which my fav one is still on backorder) and went up to my pond to test them out. Didnt really have the right size hook for my size bait but really just wanted to see the action. I was using a weighted 4/0 hook in a 5" bait... guys its just to small. Well to get to the point here, i fished around for about 30 minutes and had 2 good fish hit these VERY VERY hard in cold water. Seen both of them come up and just crush them. If the water was a little warmer i believe i would have had more. I did hook up with both fish but lost them both due to the hook. Need a 5 or better in a 5" swimbait. The action on these things are unbelievable. Instead of just the tail going from side to side the whole bait goes from side to side like it is swiming! The fall rate on these baits( because it is hollow) is slow which i like. It falls head down with the tail kinda fluttering. kinda like a dying shad. All in all I have a soft swimbait box with about 3 diffrent colors in it with more to be added!!!! go out and buy you some, you will like them. Just figured I would tell all of you that has not got them yet.THEY ARE HARD TO FIND!!!!

Re: Strike king Shad-a-licous
Yeah I found the same problem with the hooks but it looks like I need a 7/0 for my 5.5" swimbaits. I'm gonna try and cut a slit in the belly, like a fluke has to get better hook penetration with the smaller hooks. My bait is solid so it shouldn't matter but it might hurt a hollow body type.
Re: Strike king Shad-a-licous
I used the big frog hook that Stanley makes, it seems to work great and the lil weight on towards the eye of the hook doesnt impair the action. Its one big sharp hook
Re: Strike king Shad-a-licous
