Is it true that the red line disappears quicker in water and the best in clear lakes??
I think its crap.... JMHO.
My brother in law bought a spool and found it to be lacking. It broke well under the advertised test weight. As far as disspearing in water... only at depth below 15', which is only a little more shallow that other line "colors".
Keep on chuckin'
I had watched in-fisherman about 2 wks ago and 1 of their topics.
was about red line disappearing it only disappears in muddy water.
I think its crap line I dont like fishing mud anyway.
i saw the same in fisherman show.i used it once and it kinks to high heaven,i didn't have a breaking problem just stiff.think of this,if red did disappear in water then the red hooks are big ol gimmick making tons of money.a fire tail worm would be a straight purple worm and all the old red and white lures from way back in the day had to look darn weird to a fish, had to wonder why all the minnows were missing heads.in muddy water the old yellow stren would work..
Riddle me this batman.. Red line disapears, but red hooks attract fish cause it looks like blood. What is it? Can you see it really well or not at all?
I found it is great for crankin only. I also do not have a prob with kinks or memory. In fact it lays flat from what I've found...it does have a little more strectch but, found that works great for crank baits.
I don't recommend it for anything else.
I use Cajun Red cast

I don't use it but my understanding is that red line is translucent so light penetrates the line and helps to reduce visibility. Red hooks are reflective and not translucent so that is supposed to help attract the fish. I don't place alot of stock in either catagory since I have tried them both and didn't notice anything special. I still stand by Excel clear mono all day long. JMO
I love it for cranking also. Not one problem and have been using it for 3 yrs... Dan
