Heading to Dale Hollow May 16...
A few of the guys from work and I are heading to Dale this upcoming weekend. I'll be fishing for anything that bites, but preferably smallies and LM. What works down there this time of the year? Where would i expect to find the fish? We will be fishing out of Starpoint.
Thanks,
John

If you hit the creeks, it's hard to beat that float'n worm or senko. I like 3/0 hooks for the action with 10 lb. flouro fished weightless. Lot's of males and numbers plus your out of high winds
4" grubs fished on 10 lb. flouro and 1/4 oz or 3/8 if it's wind. I like a shad pattern black on the top silver on the bottom. Maybe a little more color if it's stained. Work those main lake grass flats.
Also, live bait (if that's what you're into) on the main lake points is producing the larger fish.
Good luck.

I'd like to know more about those grubs. What brand of grubs comes with a shad color? Seems like what I've seen is just one color like white or chartruese, sometimes with flake, but I was just thinking today about putting some black eyes on some white ones and maybe some red on the belly.

get in the creeks and throw fluke type baits or anything really that looks like bait fish around wood...youll get hammered by some big largeheads

Grubs. I like the shad and chartruese shad colors. Sour Grape looks good 2.

Kalins makes some good ones to. I like smoke, white or chartruese 4-5 inch size. Depending on conditions, water color, etc.
Fish on a med action spinning rod with 6-10 flouro. Darter head or something that pulls through/gets out the grass easily.
Experiment with the retrieve till you find how they want it. I like to use it like a crankbait this time of year. You can always slow it down and go to the float'n worms, flukes or a swim bait.
Like berea said...you can try those creeks and get on to multi-species....there's nothing meaner than a 3lb male smallie...they'll stretch that string 4 sho.
