A little fly fishing this weekend
I'm looking for some advice.
I haven't gotten out much last couple of years (been doing to much cycling with the kids). I can get away on Sunday. My preference would be to kayak/wade the Cumberland, but my guess is that the water will be too high for that? Any knowledge of current conditions? Seems like a lot of the websites I used to go to for up to the minute conditions are no longer with us.
Second choice would be fly fishing for bedding bluegills. I can always go to McNealy close to home, but I'll take any other suggestions. The kayak can get me most places, but I won't want to go for the far shoreline on big impoundments. The CJ had an article on Wilgreen. Worth it?
Any other suggestions?
Thanks for the hlep.

Tomorrow the CEO will be operating 0 generators from midnight til 6:00as cst, and 1 generator from 6:00 til midnight. The lake is just about back down to 680 ft asl, so the river should be fishable and wadable if we don't get another monsoon.

Great news.

Go for it! The river is down to the same level ity was last summer. The rain may bring it up some, but passing over it the past two days it looks wadable in some of the popular spots.Might be a little stained from the current rains, but the burkesville area looks real good.
