where to go for anniversary???
i need some help. i am going to take my wife somewhere next weekend for our anniversary. we are going to take my boat somewhere, but not sure where. i want to catch some fish, but also be able to go somewhere nice to eat and maybe shop a little for the wife. any good suggestions in kentucky?? i was thinking somewhere the lake is pretty like cumberland or dale, but those places are pretty remote from what i have seen.
Re: where to go for anniversary???
Don't know where you are out of, but Kentucky Lake would be a good bet. There's a nice restaurant called Patti's in Grand Rivers, KY (main exit off I24 for access to Land Between The Lakes). Doesn't get much better than that for dinner. Short drive Paducah for shopping. Don't know what Murray has to offer for shopping, but it's not far away.
Gotta love the lake for an anniversary. Hang on to that woman.
Re: where to go for anniversary???
i want to go to kentucky bad, but its 6 hours for me. i just got back from there a week ago. i am from oh and live near eastern kentucky border(ashland Ky). im looking for a little shorter trip. patti's would be wonderful and the shopping there would suffice im sure. im trying to save a little gas money with the prices now however. thanks for the help.
Re: where to go for anniversary???
Oh Boy you're gonna get yourself into trouble taking pointers from this group :) Cave Run lake is not far from you, don't know about the shopping but wouldn't your wife love to tie into a 40" muskie on her anniversary! That would be a memorable one for sure, just don't let her lip it.
Re: where to go for anniversary???
i have been thinking about the cave. i thought maybe we could fish there all morning and a little afternoon and head to lexington for a while. i was just hoping to find a "new" idea from someone who might have taken the wife somewhere special.
Re: where to go for anniversary???
Man try Douglas Lake in Tenn. and it's close to a Bass Pro Shops and of course the big three Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg and the views are great. Douglas Lake is supposed to be awesome this time of year. I know it's a ways for you but it's different.

Re: where to go for anniversary???
Cumberland. You can put in at Lees Ford, eat at Lees Ford (very nice restaurant), eat in Somerset and shop in Somerset. If you don't like fishing creek head down to Cumberland Point or Conley Bottom and you have lots of places to choose from. There are lots of lakes within an hour of Somerset if you want to try somewhere differnet. Plus you could always talk her into fishing for Striper at night. What is more romantic than fishing by the moonlight? If she lays into one of those fellows it will be something to remember.
I am heading down to fishing creek tomorrow for crappie. They have been catching some pretty big crappie the past couple weeks.
