Green river wopper
Just got back from Green. It was windy and cold. Water temp. 59. Caught 7 bass over 12". Big fish was 24 7/8 in. smallmouth. Caught the big girl on a blue glimmer catchsomebass spinnerbait. My best smallmouth til now was 6#. this one was larger. She was 10 1/2" wide and 7+#. I'll be on my way to Cumberland Sun. night. If I do any good i'll post.

That is freakin awesome! I guess they are still on the spinnerbait. Did you fish in the area that I mentioned and what other baits did you try?

Re: Green river wopper
The fish was caught near dam in 40' of water. She was after shad on the surface. I tried many different baits and most of them worked. I lost 2 swimbaits (musky)and caught most of my fish on a modified football head jig and lizard. I had only one hit on topwater,it was a nice fish but came unbuttoned.

I've caught a smallie or two off that big rocky point near the dam, though none anywhere near that big! There is deep water off that thing. My Grandfather worked for the Corps of Engineers at Green and everytime I was going fishing there he'd tell me to make sure I hit that point. :)

Re: Green river wopper
So did you keep it to mount it or did you throw her back?
The largest smallmouth for me came out of Dale last month in April....6lbs and just a hair over 21", maybe 21 1/4" max, but I threw it back because if I'm going to mount one I want there to be no doubt in anyone's mind that it's a trophy. And before anyone jumps on me about fiberglass replica's, all I have to say to that is "hogwash". It's not a sin to keep a regulation fish.
If I were you I would have definitely kept the one you caught...Great job!! So enquiring minds want to know, did you keep it or throw it back?
