Would you be leary?
I'm looking at a 2004 Ranger 519VS, super looking one owner boat, the only catch i see is that it has a 2002 200HP Evinrude direct injection motor. The guy says the motor was new when put on his 04 boat. Would you guys be leary of this. Also does anyone have any experience with this motor, is it pretty solid, and does it get pretty good gas mileage. I cant image it having to many hours if it has just been used since 04. Thanks for any advice you guys can give me.

Re: Would you be leary?
Most motors today can be plugged in and it will tell you how many hours at each RPM level the motor has been run. I would presume this is the case for this motor as well. If I were very serious at all about the rig, I might check into having this done.

Take it to a dealer and get them to run the printoff for you and then you can see if the motor was broken in properly and how it was treated and how many hours are on it.The fichts that developed the bad rep were the 99's and the 98's. Get the serial # and go over to BassBoatCentral log on to the Evinrude board and ask someone to run a history report for you and they can tell you every problem a dealer has fixed on it. I run a troublefree 04 225ho
