Hey man Herrington is fine-What are you fishing for-day or night?
Daytime, hopefully be there at sun up. Mainly going after L-mouth but will target some hybrids if we run into them like we did a few weeks ago. Will be putting in at Bryant's and probably head up around Dunn or Gwinn Island.
If you are going up around Gwinn, why not put in at Coffee's? Better road and decent ramp IMHO.

I checked out the ramp at Coffey's and found the ramp to be decent (drops off nicely---don't have to back too far before boat floats off trailer). The road leading to Coffey's is nicely paved, but very narrow and way too curvey. Once you get to Coffey's, the parking is terrible and it is very, very rough. Looks like they just dumped their concrete and leveled it out with their feet. Bryant's is much better even though I have to back out into the water just a bit. I would rather put in a Bryant's and run 8 miles to Gwinn, than put in at Coffey's and run a mile to Gwinn. But, that's just my opinion. I like to fish Dunn Island and Gwinn Island and wish there was a nice ramp closer, but I guess there is just not enough business to sink alot of money into redoing the facilities. Bryant's charges $6 to launch and I find that to be resonable; some people find it outrageous. I wish the economy would support a dock with a store at Bryant's. A lot of people do not support the boat docks at all. They only use the ramp and never buy anything at all from the dock. I understand that the docks can't compete with the Wal-Marts and the big box sporting goods stores, but they have to turn a profit to stay open. I will buy some soft drinks, snacks, etc. from the dock or the local bait store just to show my appreciation for them being there. I know I could save money by shopping at Wally World for those things before heading out, but Wal-mart will always be around and the local bait stores and docks won't be around without more support. Sometimes we don't miss things until they are gone. Sorry I got away from your question. I would grab some crickets and wax worms and fish for some nice blugill. I love to tip popeyes with wax worms and throw to the bank and let it drift back to the boat. Crickets under a bobber or drifting them is also a good time for me. I know most people on the forum bass fish maybe they can give you some tips for bass. I crappie fished using minnows in the Gwinn Island area, but only managed one 9" crappie last Saturday. Drifting crickets or wax worms off the face of the big cliff just up from Gwinns dock has always produced big bluegill for me. I usually pick up a few nice catfish this of year when fishing in that area. I think I am headed down Saturdayfor a mess of bluegills. Good Luck.
I went there for about 5 hours Tuesday. I had never seen the lake until this time. Never knew what it was all about. Very surprising! I put in at Gwinn's. I fished all around Dunn's as well. I should have had a live well full of minner's huh? FIshed docks for the gill's and everything? Just don't get it!
Fish Hard!
