Founder of Weather Channel: Global Warming Hype = $4/gallon Gas
John Coleman, founder of the Weather Channel, spoke recently to the San Diego Chamber of Commerce.

Some of his points: *Manmade* global warming = hype/media frenzy, thousands of Ph.Ds and others refute it but are silenced, result = $4 gas.
Don't shoot the messenger.
Re: Founder of Weather Channel: Global Warming Hype = $4/gallon Gas
Man, another Al Gore blunder! The sad part is he has taken the majority of the elected officials with him! All in the name of science that doesn't exist. 31,000 scientist signed that? Mmmmm
Re: Founder of Weather Channel: Global Warming Hype = $4/gallon Gas
I've always questioned how much warming is man-induced, and how much is natural, and this article gives a pretty convincing argument that most of it is natural. But I haven't seen where anybody, even global warming skeptics, deny that it's occurring, and neither does Mr. Coleman. The Arctic ice cap is smaller than it's ever been in recorded history. Polar bears are on the brink of extinction due to loss of habitat. The Sahara Desert has been growing for thousands of years, and continues to do so today. So maybe it's caused by Milankovitch cycles or whatever, but I still would like to know how much further it's going to go, and how soon? Coleman says the earth has been cooling for 10 years. That's great, but is it going to keep on cooling, or is that just a blip on the curve?
I'm starting to look at global warming the same way I look at the eruption of the Yellowstone super-volcano. Yes, it may happen, and if it does, it may be catastrophic, but it's a force of nature way beyond our control.
Re: Founder of Weather Channel: Global Warming Hype = $4/gallon Gas
I have heard and read that there are no "real" population counts on the Polar Bear. The data that they have shows more bears are being sighted on land than ever before but is that due to a lack of ice or a population boost? I'm sure it depends on which side of the fence a person wants to lean on. I wonder who has the real facts and not just scare tactics?
Re: Founder of Weather Channel: Global Warming Hype = $4/gallon Gas
how do any of them know for sure?there is no way they know what the earth would be doin if there were no people on it.sure we may be helping it along but i don't think size of the scare they are making matches the problem.
they are just proffiting off what the average joe citizen can't dis prove really.we have to take their word for the global warming, oil shortage.
best i remember in science class if you did a project you had to prove it or you got an "f",no one can give these guys f,s..
did anyone see the peak oil documentary last nite on the doc. channel..was interesting..and proves they are doin us to apoint..
Re: Founder of Weather Channel: Global Warming Hype = $4/gallon Gas
Ponder this one absolute fact. Never were there over 6 billion homo sapiens in habiting this planet.Draw your own conclusions. Animals didn't deforest great areas.Methane while present, wasn't present in this amount, and CO2 was a needed thing for plant growth. Sure we can count more polar bears, because men couldn't fly over the poles a 100 yrs ago.Maybe it is natural, and if nature follows its course, nothing we do can stop it. anyone know how many meteors are out there, big enough to end it all?Like Alfred E Newman used to say " what me worry'?
Re: Founder of Weather Channel: Global Warming Hype = $4/gallon Gas
Jojn Coleman used to be the weatherman on WGN in chicago, he was replaced by Tom scilling, whose brother switched vocations and became an exec with enron. He also switched vocations involentarily, prisoner .
John Coleman was not nominated for the Noble Peace Prize
If this man is so smart why didn't he win a Nobel Peace Prize
Anyone can make up a web site. There is a lot of garbage on the net and most of it is propaganda and false
The main stream new media vets their news sources and gets confirmation before printing or putting news on the air.
Never heard of John Coleman, but I do watch the Weather Channel and I have yet to see a meteorologist on there agree with John Coleman's views on global warming.
Anyone that thinks that 7 Billion humans are not impacting this plant needs to have their head examined to make sure there is still a brain there.
Seriously all you have to do is look at the Coal Companies own records to see that we are mining more coal than ever before. And we humans are burning more and more coal every year. Do you really think that all those CO2 emissions are not having an impact on this planets? I guess the uneducated can be made to believe anything if you think that way.
Like a friend of mine said. You can't teach a dumb dog new tricks. Best to let sleeping dumb dogs lay.

As a public service I've copied and pasted below the part(s) of the previous post that actually addressed anything Coleman had to say.
I've eliminated ad hominem attacks, bandwagon propaganda techniques and confusion of correlation and causation.
Please to enjoy.

This web site has some text to read.
You might want to read it.
I got it from a link on the Weather Channel.com

Re: Founder of Weather Channel: Global Warming Hype = $4/gallon Gas
Let me give you one example of what one man did to the envirement. Me! In the late seventys I dumped tons of propellant that was not able to be reprocessed, because there was concern, now that gas is called ucon, or freon, and along with it, who knows how much CO2, there was no immediate concern, we didn't know. Now we know. How many other chemicals have we legaly disposed of that never existed in nature. The company I worked for, made O2 tons of it, did we ever think about the causes of replenishment? No its only air that we reprocess using an awful ammount of energy. We wwere not the only company doing this, who knows what ammount of unseen damage we did, but later, when facts became known, these practises were stopped, but the horse had left the barn. Canada has what is known as oil sands, great amounts of it, but enviementally they are a disaster to refine, but were doing it.Yes man has an impact on this planet, sorry but true!
