Re: Taylorsville Report/Poll
I fished there yesterday and smoked them. No huge fish but probably 5 or 6 keepers and a bunch in the 13 to 14 inch range. Caught them all on plastics. Strange thing was I didn't catch any fishing around the stumps or tress. I love Taylorsville! I hope everyone else thinks it's the dead sea so I can keep going back and having those kind of days.
Re: Taylorsville Report/Poll
I use a shad pattern Shad Rap and a blue & Black jig-n-pig to catch all my fish. When the water is stained I use a white tube texas rigged and a white 1/4 oz spinner bait. Always seem to catch at least one keeper and several close to it. :)

C'mon guys... only two replies?
Re: Taylorsville Report/Poll
I think there are more than enough Tournaments on Taylorsville. You can fish one just about everyday and more than one some days. Un less you plan on doing something better or totally different I don't think it will draw many boats.
Re: Taylorsville Report/Poll
The tourney we are planning is limited to coworkers... didn't mean to make it look like we are trying get more fishermen. Most of us are novice fishermen and I am only trying generate some discussion about techniques that the group can use to improve their chances. Our first tourney was tough and some folks are thinking that they "just can't catch fish" (we have all been there). Sorry for the confusion. Just looking for discussion about what folks have used/types of banks that have produced.
Re: Taylorsville Report/Poll
T-Ville Lake is small enough that you don't need a specific bank to fish, if you just want to fish. Just drop the trolling motor and start fishing where ever you put in at. With a Shad Rap, you can catch anything that swims in the lake.
Re: Taylorsville Report/Poll
I went there Fri morning since I couldn't fish fri nite. Caught 2 around 4-4 1/2 and several 3's. not too good after 9 or so. I have found that if you stay way off the bank and fish deep even early (and I mean at 5am Im' in 20 ft of water) and stay at it, you'll find some good ones. we have boated 8 so far at 5 plus in 3 trips and lost a few really bigs ones, (big to me is 7 plus) including one that was a total monster. I bought all the nonsense about the dead sea till I started fishing there, don't believe it, there is some great fishing there and if I have said it once, I've said it a hundred times, throw the "book" out there, go against the usual theory and and see what happens.I thought that I may have figured this place out but it's still suspect because we didn't catch any 4 plus after 9 so I still need to solve that one but so far, I am extremly happy with results so far this year at T-ville. Now at rough? I'll get back to you on that one!

Wow! Looks like they are biting pretty good up there. I usually fish up there every spring but haven't made it this year.
