Rough River
Can anyone tell me what to expect out of Rough River? I have never been on the lake and not even sure what to expect, If someone could compare it to other lakes that are similar that would be helpful. Deep? Clear? Dingy? etc. etc.
I am not wanting to know fishing spots or baits and such just kinda trying to get an idea what to expect this weekend when i take my kids to the KBF Youth Tournament and then myself on Sunday during the KBF tournament.
Thanks in advance
Kevin

Re: Rough River
I consider Rough River, to be more like fishing the Ohio River, only a little cleaner. I've always had great luck on Top water Sammy's early, Chartreuse & Black Pig-n-Jigs and the same Pork Trailer in color. A 4" to 6" black Ring Worm with a Chart. tail. Flip the boat docks using a jig or even a shaky head worm in the color I said before. Something about chart. that seems to work on any soft plastic you throw. Some of the coves have timber in them and a crank bait is a good choice to throw. Also in the timber, try a wacky style worm around any brush or stumps you encounter. Sometimes you can catch a limit of Spotted Bass off the docks and then go try for a bigger bite in some deeper water.

Re: Rough River
Rough River is a little muddy, they been pulling alot of water out of it and just now got it to summer pool. I fished a tourney there last weekend the bite was a little slow but every one still had fish. We seemed to have alot of luck on secondary points. Good Luck.
