Salt River at Shepherdsville
Has anybody ever fished the Salt river in Shepherdsville by the 61 bridge. I have seen a few people fishing there as I drive by and wonder if it is worth me giving it a shot. I know that it is wadable, is it deep enough to put a little boat on? any info is appreciated.

There is a ramp at the KOA campground, left at first sheperdsville exit off 65 down @ 1.5 mile, where you can launch a small boat. I think they charge $8 a car load. We have caught lots of catfish, rockbass, and sauger there. I would try a small red or crawfish color rattle trap.

Thanks for the info. How deep is it at the campground because I know that it is only about knee deep at the 61 bridge, and I would be afraid to bottom out.
Re: Salt River at Shepherdsville
Me and the wife decided to just wade the river at the 61 bridge sunday, and to my surprise we caught about 20 fish in 2 hours. We caught smallies, stripers, sauger, and some bluegills. Had a ball, we were just throwing some twister tail jigs. Nothing big but a great midday trip, before the rain.

Did you catch any quality smallies? Was it good wading?
