Small Boats & Big Bass, 6/21/08
My buddy Joe and I got out this afternoon on a little lake...we took our creek boats and paddled around, because he had one that he wanted to try out for the first time. (Finally!!) Having your legs in the water felt pretty good today. We caught some nice fish.
Right in the heat of the afternoon I stuck a pig on a shakey head, pitching a Reaction Innovations Flirt in "Mein Vein" color. It went 4-15 on the little cheapo digital scale. Then Joe hooked up with a couple nice ones too.
It was a good day and we brought some good fish to hand. Couldn't get any topwater bite going, but shakey heads were money. Now Joe knows how to assemble/rig/paddle his new ODC816, so it's time for moving water. Also, he got a warp speed crash course in disassembly - We looked like a drunken NASCAR pit crew trying to load up two boats and all the gear in the back of my F150 after paddling like hell to get to the truck as a storm blew in. Yeah, we got wet...but the bungee job kept the boats from flying out of the back of the truck. LOL!
Here are a few photos.

Nice fish!!! I just purchased one of these boats to use to fish smaller bodies of water. I took mine out for the first time on Saturday and was able to catch a few small bass. I have started looking for other anglers in the Louisville area who fish the same way..

One thing about the little paddle pontoons - They don't burn much gas. ;) Like fishing from a Lay-Z-Boy recliner.

Terry and Matt, that was them. Yeah, Terry was hanging his hat on that big buzzbait all day, even when the sun was blazing hot. I think he said he caught ninety-something and Matt had 112. Both seemed like good guys and hard core creek fishermen.
