Cedar is one of my favorite lakes due to the fact that 5 to 8lb bass have been caught on a frequent basis. 20inch limit on large mouth. Early am and evening is the hot times from what I have seen. Plastics work well and jigs. I have been told some cranks work in areas but I have not had much luck with them. The lake is not big at all and has alot of shallow areas so watch your depth finders carefully. Points off of coves work for me. 10 to 20 ft in depth is where I seen the fish.
You can go to Cedarcreek outtfitters on the web and that will give you more info. Have fun. Oh the heck with it I am going tonight.
I fished it today for only the second or third time this year. Didn't get there to almost noon so it was not the prime time. I fished t-rigs, jigs, and crankbaits most of the day. Had a few bites but couldn't connect. Then with only about 30 minutes left (had to be somewhere). I switched to my 4th pole setup with a Carolina rig lizard. OK, first thing, I never really ever fish a C-Rig. Only tried it a few times over the years but I thought what the heck. I made a long cast parallel to some trees started dragging and wham, first fish of the day, first fish ever on a C-Rig. I cast again, you guessed it , another fish. I caught one more about 10 mins later and had to go. So if I were to go back I would throw a C-Rig lizard and see what happens. Good Luck...
I just got back. Got on the water at 530pm. Went to a spot I really havent tried and what do ya know. I caught 2 bass in 30 min. about 14 to 16 inch. Caught a third about an hour later and the sun went bye bye. Had a couple hits after that then started to see some lightening in the area and decided I better head home just in case. Not big on Cedar at night but I caught bass in the 5 hours I fished.
