I usually throw a weightless 'trick worm' or wacky rigged worm in grass. Sometimes a spinnerbait or a crankbait that just hits the top of it can be deadly. A jerkbait suspended over it can also be lethal.
What is south KY? KY lake?
round up!
Grass is illegal in Ky but we do make great burbon. :D
I'm sure there's plenty if you know the right people....wink.
texas rigged pegged worms.
I dont know the right people:)
Although I'm not from Kentucky, I love fishing grass ripping a lipless crank. I've had a lot of success this rippin' one of Strike King's Redeye Shad, and the lighter weight of the lure works well in and around grass.
Best of Luck to ya!

Alot of the bays on the East side of the lake have plenty of grass in them. I like to fish the Zoom horny toads on the mats and over the submerged grass. Also 10 in T-rigged worms with the weights pegged
Buy a GPS map when your down there. They have it marked. Most of the large shallow bays/flats have mats and submerged grass.
Sorry to hear that you don't know the right people....I wasn't talk'n fish'n man.
