river fishing in southern Kentucky
We're 1st timers coming down to dale hollow for a week of camping and fishing at the end of the month. Planning to spend most of our time on the lake, but I'm curious about smaller river fishing. I have an 18' tracker w/a 120 inboard jet. Are there any smaller smallmouth rivers within a few hrs of the lake that I could run this thing on? It's a little heavy, but it gets thru pretty skinny water.
Thanks for any info
J

I'm not to sure about the smallmouth fishing, but you're boat sounds like a Cumberland river rig. You could check with the "One Stop" in Celina or Strange bait&tackle in Burkesville. This is trout, striper, walleye, white bass type water. The scenery and wildlife make a good trip.

your boat would be suitable for the Kentucky River around Lexington, Richmond, Nicholasville, and Frankfort areas. there are Largemouth, Smallmouth, Whites and Hybrids, catfish, Muskie, drum, bluegill, gar.
