Anyone else ready for the end of summer?
I love summer, just hate the crowded lakes. It seems like the pleasure boaters lose a little more common sense every year. I usually don't hit the lakes here on the weekends, but the weather was too nice not to last weekend. I had to wait 30 minutes to launch because a truck with a 40 foot trailer was parked in the ready lane, making everyone funnel through and back up. I had to come off plane twice on the way to my spot because jet skiiers were too busy jumping wake to watch for other boats. Then a 40+ foot cruiser came within 30 feet of me fishing. After it passed I started fishing again, forgetting about the wake, which threw me in the lake (a prime example of why I don't have guns in the boat). This was a bad day, but somewhat typical for the summers here.
I guess I am just ready for some jacket weather with the lake to myself and fellow fisherman.

Yeah, I think I'm with you. Nothing like the fall. Fishing picks up and football starts.

I HATE FALL!!! ..... cause I know what follows, the white stuff and people who can't drive in it. The older I get the more I realize the old man knows what he's talking about. "one day you will hate winter and snow..how right he was!

X2...It is more enjoyable to jump in the lake to cool off than it is to do exercises on the boat to stay warm and get the blood flowing good again..
Re: Anyone else ready for the end of summer?
Dang, it's still August and you guys are talking about snow and winter already...Jeez...Please stop, your making my bad back tense up already thinking about 5 months of the terrible cold weather I must endure each year now.....Wish I was rich enough to move somewhere that it never drops below 60 degree's........But I can bundle up with a little extra clothing and fish in the fall some....lol:)
Re: Anyone else ready for the end of summer?
I can't wait for winter. I'm ready for FnF season again. I wish I could do that year 'round.

Been there done that! I would rather be hot than cold while fishing. I'm gonna try more Winter fishing this year to really see what it has to offer.
