It seems people are as tight liped about this lake as the fish are. I have been wondering the same questions about this lake during the daytime hours myself. Early morning and late evening/night time has been the best for me.
I've been with people who have said they can "unlock" the secrets of the Herrington only to be blanked! I don't know anyone who can "unlock" the jaws of the big ones in Herrington during the day!
Herrington is a tough lake to fish!! The bite is good at night. At night a go0d bet is a black and blue jig or a bomber 7A crank bait. If your going to fish it in the day, you've got your work cut out for you.
I would probably fish the right side bank between Chimney Rock and Redgate with a jig or crankbait (parallel to the bank). If that didn't produce I would head down to the middle and back section of cane run creek or Rocky fork.
Fish the cover when you find it!!.
One more thing worth a try in the morning or early evening depending on when you start your day. Try throwing a big colorado blade spinnerbait right along side of the docks. I like the docks from Chimney Rock down to Cane Run.
This might unlock a few fish. Expect bank runners rather than bruisers.
Good Luck

I may have to try the colorado blade. I have heard flukes work around the docks as well..
Thanks for the ideas guys. I really do appreciate the wisdom.
