New striper boat?
I've been picking out all of the features I want on my new striper boat for about five months now. Problem I'm having is the rumors I've been hearing on Lake Cumberland being lowered another 30 feet to work on the dam. Granted I have NOT heard anything official but I was wondering if anyone has heard or can link me to something official. I don't want to buy a new striper boat if I can't use it on Cumberland. I'm not trying to start any rumors but I don't want to spend the money soon when I may need to wait for several more years before I make this purchase. Again, I'm just looking for valid information or the most recent information on the Corps decisions. Thanks for any info!!!

Re: New striper boat?
Go to the Lake Cumberland Dam drawdown discussions page and check out a couple of the threads. Look like they have a false alarm and the rumor spread like wildfire. I would not let it scare you out of your boat.

Re: New striper boat?
Go to lakecumberland.com and be prepared to read for several hours.
They have links to everything you could want to know including the Big red COE rumor button.
It would take an extreme emergency for them to lower past the current 680 ft. level. They are hoping to actually raise it to 690.

Re: New striper boat?
Thanks for the replies. I have Lakecumberland.com saved on my favorites and the Corps. site also for several years now. I read about the false reading from the gauge at the dam and I've read lots of info on the progress they are making on repairs. Just thought I might have missed some info somewhere about Cumberland being lowered more. Several locals I talk to around the lake got me a little concerned when they told me about the lake going down 30 more ft.

Man, we have a very healthy rumor mill working down here.
