Headed to KY Lake Sept 19,20, 21.........any Ideas?
I'm headed down Friday, Saturday and Sunday next week, and was wondering if anyone has any ideas with regards to what the fish are doing......
I've never been there this EARLY in fall, and was wondering if they'd still be in a summer "holding" pattern......
Since I stink, any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
BTW.......I will be at Patties for Dinner Friday, and the Brass Lantern (hopefully), on Saturday.....
Thanks,
Geo
Re: Headed to KY Lake Sept 19,20, 21.........any Ideas?
I fished KY last week end before my trolling motor burned out any way. Still had the night fishing bug and tried it Friday/Saturday night and bombed. Only caught 3 or 4 each night. But Saturday evening before dark I slipped up into a nook with some weeds and threw a Sammy and caught a bunch of smallish LMs - 2 keepers in the bunch. Can't beat the topwater bite. I would say there would be a good morning and evening bite shallow like that but the better fish are probably still out on the ledges though.

ill be down there next weekend also.. all i know is that they should be around the baitfish. So the bait might still be hanging over the ledges or maybe there starting to move up creek. I'm anxious to find out, good luck to you!

On Monday (last day I was on the lake) you could find them on Main Lake ledges, creek ledges, and on flats on the main lake and the creeks. Best baits on the ledges were jigs and c-rigged creature baits. In the creeks they would eat topwaters early and late, as well as traps, shallow crankbaits and spinnerbaits. Good fish can be caught in both patterns.
Be advised!!! Weather the rest of this week and next may change one or both patterns!!

Put my new fishing report up last night...the LM fishing is excellent right now.

Geo,
Just go C-rig all those spots that Dave M and I jacked them on a couple years ago.
