Cave run report

Fished the Cave Sat, Sun, and Mon. Water: 72 degrees, very clear (as usual). Muskies were moving and eating, raised 8, hooked 2, boated 0. Reports of other people doing very well, I just split my time doing a little musky fishing and bass fishing. Bass were moving too. found many schools of baitfish, and just kept fishing near baitfish and managed 16 bass, 1 two pounder, 1 solid 3.5, 2 Five+ pounders, a few keepers and a few dinks caught on DD 22, except one of the 5 pounders was caught musky fishing with a 2oz. spinnerbait. Fish were either on the schools of baitfish in which they were in deeper water (25 feet) shelf's ooff of the main channel, or they were in the grass. Muskies were being caught on Bulldawgs and large spinnerbaits. Hope to post pics soon, need to get the film developed.

Good to hear you did well. That's a good catch for cave run. I've saw more big fish this year on the cave than any other in memory. My biggest ever out of Cave Run came this year (6-12) and I've saw several others over 6.

just spoke with some buddies on the lake that are prefishing for the Trinity Muskie Tournament tomorrow. They have already boated 4 muskies before noon. Will give more details after the tournament tomorrow;)
