Vandals at Nolin
Just went and got my launch sticker renewed at the corps office today, the lady behind the desk told me to spread the word around about the vandalism.
One of the restrooms at the tail-waters was demolished by a pick-up truck. The restroom at Iberia was set fire(total loss). I guess the scariest one to me is: at moutardier someones black pick-up truck got spray painted florescent orange while they were out on the lake. The lady at the corps office thinks it was 1 of only 3 vehicles in the parking lot. SCARY Could you imagine? I'm sure a little of this goes on everywhere from time to time. Especially around Halloween time. So if you think someone is up to menacing it may be worth sticking around for a few minutes. Just to give everyone a heads-up.

Re: Vandals at Nolin
There were problems back in the spring too. There was a weekday that every truck at Wax had their tailgate stolen.
People came in off the water, and the tailgate was literally gone from their trucks.

Re: Vandals at Nolin
That's great! Pay money to use a ramp we as tax payers have already paid for, and the corp cannot provide any kind of security.
Why is it if you use a corp ramp and are not current, or forget to pay, you get a ticket. But when punks do crap like this, there is no one around.

You catch one of those SOB's, put a bullet in their head and dump them at the ramp............HELL no one will be by until next year to even dump the trash..........
You know I'm KIDDING, but this crap REALLY needs to stop.
Of course, depending on who we elect this time around, these people are either going to get a PASS, or are going to do some HARD TIME......
You pick who is willing to lock the SOB's up and throw away the key, or give them a slap on the hand and try to rehabilitate them.
Crooks.........can't kill em..........and well...........CAN'T KILL EM.
Later,
Geo

There is a sign posted at the tail waters saying that there is a reward for the arrest of vandals. How about a bounty?

Re: Vandals at Nolin
They stole my daughters golf cart back this spring. I had it chained to a post and they just cut the chain. Lawnmower was seting there not chained and they left it behind. I did not have that much in it but my daughter is handicap and that is the only way she can get from the campsite to the water with no help. That one got under my skin.

Re: Vandals at Nolin
I worked as a camp host at the worst spot for trouble on Barren back in 03 Beaver Creek Ramp and campground seems to draw the worst on this lake. As far as rangers go the ones who do the most work are interns and are there for the summer only. They get delegated with all of the crap work while the seasoned!? rangers work the hard stuff as in politicing for the next promotion, or checking butterfly traps. As far as security goes the Camp attendant and host do 9 tenths of the work and with a average response time by law enforcement of about 30 minutes to an hour. Well you get the picture, and the Corp has a rule that host are not allowed to keep or carry any type of firearm, baton, or spray. A rule that meant very little most of the time because if they would not chase a bad guy they were not about to check on a good guy. All of the Rangers that I worked with that summer knew very little about the lake. nor did they seem to care. Someone even stole the batteries out of the corp chase boat. So If you out there you are definitly on your own, during the winter months when the rangers have even shorter hours, you are really SOL for security. most sheriff offices have a contract on the lakes to provide at least one patrol a day, but they are almost always at the same time and very predictable. So good luck and stay close to your ramp and if you are going to drive by in the boat to a new location stretch your legs and check the lots. On Beaver Creek if there is a truck parked at the far end of the ramp with no trailer and one or two guys in it pack your rig and move they are just waiting to see where you head so they have time to strike and if you have a boat shadowing yours I head back to the ramp with cell phones these guys can set you up quick.
