Voting Tradition
As my parents did some 25 years ago..........I took my oldest daughter to our local precinct, helped explain the ballot to her............discussed what a "ballot initiative" is, and then left her alone to perform her MOST IMPORTANT civic duty.
I don't know how she voted........I think I know how she leans, but the most important thing is that she participated. AND the fact that she was REALLY excited, going to Republican and Democrat events, watching Democrat and Republican speaches.......Watching BOTH conventions, and ALL the debates.
No matter HOW this election turns out.......you've gotta admit........there are MORE young people participating in this election than EVER. I am really interested in seeing that demographic, and how it plays out in the future.
Later,
Geo

Re: Voting Tradition
I went and voted this morning, never in my life have I seen so many people out so early to vote. Normally it would take me the whole amount of 15 minutes to vote. That includes driving to the Voting Precinct and driving back home. It took me around an hour and 10 minutes this morning.... Just unbelievable how many are showing up to vote.
I too heard of some voters talking among each other...Some saying they haven't voted in awhile, but that they ain't gonna vote for a specific person to become the United States President.
Geo, Glad you took your daughter out and let her vote. I took both my sons when they were younger and explained how everything works to them. My oldest will be able to vote in the 2012 Election and I know he'll be pumped up and proud to vote for the first time.

Re: Voting Tradition
I just got back from voting, line was an hour long, I heard not ONE complaint!
I had a lump in my throat everytime I noticed some one smiling standing there in line or a parent telling their young children how important it was to vote!

Re: Voting Tradition
Just got in from casting my ballot. Only took about 20 minutes to get the deal done, but I noticed a better turnout than past elections.
