The property is located approximately 25 miles southwest of downtown Louisville along the Ohio River in Meade County, Kentucky. It is accessible from Dixie Highway, just 14 miles south of the Gene Snyder Freeway.
Re: Otter Creek Park to close
The city should look into leasing the property to a private individual similiar to what the TVA has done with it's KY lake properties. It is a shame to let such a beautiful property sit there in ruin when it can be privately operated and managed and can be enjoyed by the public. Private management, in my opinion, could make the park profitable and keep it open and functional.
Re: Otter Creek Park to close
This was just a matter of time...Louisville has tried selling it off many times over to the County, but the County never wanted it since Louisville did such a good job with it at no expense to them.
I believe it originally was a gift from Fort Knox to the city of Louisville for their service in World War II.

Yeah, they changed that the other day to accomodate people who had reserved the lodge for events already planned. Also, KDFWR is looking to get ahold of it if they can work out a deal with the city.
