Re: Mobile discussion board
I usually check the site often while on the road from my iPhone, I have had no problems at all to speak of.
Kudos !! :)
Re: Mobile discussion board
Yeah - I've accessed it from my Windows Smartphone before as well using Internet Explorer. The Skyfire browser is pretty slick to display the board as well.
One thing I will say, the board isn't really optimized for viewing from a mobile browser. There are other boards that are either set up differently for mobile browsers or actually have a mobile version available. Something like mobile.fishin.com that cuts out a lot of the images and ads.
The National weather service has a mobile version that is really fast on a mobile phone. I use it a lot when fishing.
I'll probably be getting an iPhone or Google phone in the next couple of months and will probably be browsing even more from handheld devices.
Re: Mobile discussion board
Give Opera a try. It would be interesting to see how you think it compares to Skyfire.
Anybody else had have any experience or comments with mobile browsers viewing Fishin.com?

Re: Mobile discussion board
I've heard a lot of good things about Opera, but probably won't download it since I'll be getting a new phone pretty soon. I may do it after that.
I've posted comments to other boards that have mobile versions before. For us UK sports fans, the mobile version of the catspause.com works really well for any browser.
Skyfire is pretty neat in that it even displays flash and videos.
Re: Mobile discussion board
i have the iphone and i love it. it is amazing what you can do on a phone these days. i was a little ifey about it till my wife talked me in to it. daily planers, gps, music player, note pad, quick weather butten, and a camera. i cant beleave you can even talk on it to. i have all the lakes i like to fish on my weather butten so i can see what the weather is at everyone with a click of a butten. this thing is cool

sounds like skyfire is something to check out. the baility to view flash videos is a big advantage. Most internet videos are flash these days.
Thanks for the info. I have heard a lot of good things about the iphone and guess I did slam it a bit unjustifiably.

Peter,
I've got the BB Curve thru verizon also. I've had mine about 6 months now and its been pretty nice. It does have it's limits just like the iphone, g1 or any windows mobile device. If you are a RSS junkie give viigo a try. Since we are on the subject, I was wondering if setting up feeds for the board is something in the works? Anyway enjoy the Curve and dont get too addicted!!
