Falls of The Ohio Fishing
Anyone that has been down there, have you had any luck?
My cousin and I went down there on the 27th (this past saturday) and had no luck at all. We tried worm, artificial, and even cut bait.
So has anyone had any luck at all? I mean i know the waters way up and all, but even though, we still shoulda have gotten at least a nibble.:(

I just can't wait to get back out on the water, when it gets warm that is.
I just bought myself a early b-day present
a Ambassaduer C4 6600
It cast so well. Just really wanting to be ablt to use it and actually catch a fish lol

ya I see that, that should be GREAT!!!
Re: Falls of The Ohio Fishing
went today and the skunk smell is stronger than ever.LOL!!! i had one bite on a minnow under a sip bobber in the mouth of colgate creek and that was it. if the water would clear up i think the fishing would improve 100%. going back tomorrow maybe the little rain we are getting will help clear it up. i have been there this time of year with muddy water and when it started raining you could actually watch it clear up.

Well we went on the 4th. fishin was great!!!
Caught 8 catfish, ranging from 8#-25#
and a nice 18# striper.
Was a great day!
Re: Falls of The Ohio Fishing
Would I be ok there with 25lbs test mono or should I beef it up? Do the cats and stripers respond better to cut bait or live shiners or what?

If you are going to fish live bait the live Shad can't be beat on the river. When we cast for stripes down there I use 14 to 15lb test and do just fine with it. DO not use anything less than 40 to 50lb test down there for the cats or you WILL eventually get your heart broke, lol.

me and a few freinds were down there sunday on the fourth and no one we talked to had caught anything and we didnt either. even the regulars walked down without a rod and reel just too see if anything was biting.
18 pound striper is a nice catch down there at the falls congrats on that one.
