Re: What Will This Become?
I just read this disturbing article and wonder what is your opinion. Is it realistic or a hoax, and do you believe the government will really take such extreme measures?

I read a disturbing article online in the Kingsport Times-News yesterday. It said the city-county is looking at putting "tracking devices" on Alzheimer's patients so they can be located. I'm assuming if they wander away from the caretaker. They didn't say if it's something that will be implanted in the patient or what it will be. I'm against it because the patient doesn't get a voice in the matter. I'm afraid it will eventually lead to including more people than just Alzheimer's patients.
The sad part is that these facilities already have door protection that keeps these patients from getting out. They are supposed to wear bands with a transmitter on them and as they get close to an outside door the door locks down and can beep. If they push on the door an alert goes off to alert the employees again. The windows and screens can also be protected with electronics as well.
I know they still do get out but it's usually because of "slack" employees or "slack" owners who will not service the life safety systems that they spent good money on during construction. So instead of fixing the problem lets just creat another level of cost. Typical gubment....from either party...can't really tell the difference anymore.
The parties should just merge into the Dempublican or Repocrats! The symbol can be both the Donkey butt and Elephant butt stuck together.:p Or one symbol with it's head up the others butt.
