Today at Green River
First thanks to all the guys that helped in the previous post--you were right the roads and ramp were clear all the way.
I got to Ramp One a little before 8 and was surprised to see a bunch of gulls sitting on the ice on the lake. I was not surprised to see the new color of Green now MUDDY. I put in anyhow and after a few long cranks the Yamaha started up fine and run great. BTW, if anyone every wants a recommendation for an engine Yamaha gets my vote. I have had that thing for eight years and the only thing I have done to it is change the plugs after the fifth year. It still runs great.
Anyhow I fished a couple of places between Ramp One and Butler Creek and did not have anything like a hit. It was just a beautiful day to be on the water PROVIDED YOU DRESSED WARM. There was patchy thin ice on the lake but it was melting fast. Believe or not, I never looked at the water temperature.
That is my report but believe me it was great to get out on the water.

Re: Today at Green River
yep had a yamma once and loved it. Bought a honda when they first came out because some simple minded thug lifted my 7.5 merc off my boat on christmas eve, l;ittle did he know that the shifteing dogs were screwed up. that first japanese motor was awsome. It was only a 7.5 four stroke, but for steelhead fishing in thwe river it was perfect. Sold it several yrs later for the same price I paid, and the guy ran it for yrs.Sold the boat with the yahmaha on it, got another piece of american technology[merc], it was a dawg. Got a fourty merc four stroke now, and its three yrs old, never a bit of trouble, only thing wrong with it, it seems to make gasoline. But it was made in china, not mexico.

Re: Today at Green River
I made it to Green Friday as well. Started out the day a little late and ran into Grumpy leaving as I was coming in.
I was a little upset, the lake had my game plan thrown off. Last Friday the lake was about 5ft above summer pool, Friday it was back down to winter pool. I fished around Lone Valley and had a few nibbles on the jig and then I caught a large mouth on the FNF on a main lake point.
Water around 43 where I was at.
