Fishing the tailwater is getting ready to turn on. About any of the docks offer decent access, Snake, White Oak and Robinson creeks all offer good fishing. I'm sure there are more, as I'm trying to learn the lake also.
Good luck, Tommy.
Tailwaters are probably your best bet. However the cove over at Holmes Bend is pretty good. I fished there some when I was younger and managed to catch a few fish from there. Also, I try to hit Green quite often, usually at least one day during the week. Shout if you ever want to go, I usually have an open seat.
There are several different places that I have seen people fishing from the bank. The majority of them are fishing for catfish or whatever bites. When the white bass run is going on in early srping a lot of people fish for them from the bank. As far as bass or crapppie bank fishing would be slow.
My biggest fish ever out of Green was from the bank one evening in April. I only live 5 minutes from the lake and only had 1 hour to fish so I off I went with 1 rod. I had no ruler no camera nothing with me but 1 rod and a couple of baits. I guessed the fish at 6-6 1/2 lbs. I measured her from my rod tip and made a mark on the shaft. When I got home the mark was 22" from the rod tip. The place where I caught her I have fished from a boat many times and cought a few fish but nothing like that. Now evertyime I fish that spot and dont get a bite I tell my self to jump out of the boat and hit it from the bank LOL. Thought I would share that story with you...if your bank fishing Green for bass be prepared to have very few bites.
I have not been on Green for quite some time. I do plan on going tomorrow/Tuesday and dust off some cobb webs. I may not catch anything but I believe I can break my cabin fever. Passanger seat is open If you want to go. I plan on leaving the house before noon and fish till dark. If you cant make it until after noon I could pick you up at a dock or bank latter in the day if nessecary. If you want more details send me a PM.
Hopefully we can hook up sometime and go. I have questions about Lindsey Wilson that I would like to ask a student. My family made a visit to the campus a few weks ago. I think my daughter will start attending Lindsey this fall. I have to go to Lindsey this Saturday with my daughter and talk with them about her plans. She is also being interviewed for the Bagely scholar.

thanks guys, how would you go about fishing the tailwaters? would you be looking bass? I'm just looking to get out and wet a line, haven't fished since I came down here.
Its good to see a fellow LWC on the board. I wnet to school down there in the mid 90,s and played basketbell for the raiders. If you go towards holme bend and instead of turning to the marina go strait on out that crooked road and cross the bridge. when you do I believe its the 2nd or 3rd turn on your right. The road is right beside a white church. Down there is casey creek and you can fish for crappie and bass from the bank there. Now it is rough hiking anound some parts of the lake but you can catch fish especally when they come up to spawn. Also if you drive out hwy 206 which is below campus you will get to a small bridge in a long strait strech and you can catch white bass there when they make there sprig run. I think that area is a WMA. there is plenty or room to pull off and park down there. Hope this helps you out. I made a many of trips to green while I was at LWC. It was always a good stress reliever especaly b4 FINALS!!!!!! Oh yaeh, cumberland aint to far away either?!?!?! There is somw good trout bank fishing below the dam when thay aint pulling the crap out of the lake! Hey Have they tore the hilltop apts. down yet?? GOODTIMES MAN GOODTIMES!
I attended LWC myself and now live in campbellsville....if you want to bank fish GRL, muskie will be what you are looking for.....pm me if you would like more info
Didn't "go" to LWC, but went there last month for a meeting. What is the talk of shutting down the grub hall to outside folks?
Kinda liked the food?
