c land today
fished 10-2 today. launched out of lees ford and stayed in fishing creek. still muddy (everywhere but dam i have been told). water temps in the 46 range generally. graphed lots of shad and saw thousands dying. birds everywhere. game fish rare on graph - ones we did graph were suspended between 10-15ft and did not want to eat. tried jigs, float n fly (dingy water though) jerkbaits and bladebaits with NO takers. cold weather coming!

Thanks for the report UYKY; sounds like your day was still better and more productive than my day at work...

Re: c land today
it was good to wet a line and put life back into perspective. not sure when the lake is going to clear up given that more precipitation is slated for this week. it was amazing how many dying shad we saw but little in the way of gamefish slurping them down.

Re: c land today
We were down there over the weekend. In 2 1/2 days of fishing we managed just two smallies - my buddy caught one around 6 pounds on a jig and I had one around 2, also on a jig. I also lost three - 2 on a jig and 1 on a silver buddy. Didn't even get to see them, so who knows what they were. Fished between Difficulty and Fishing Creeks. Also snagged a carp about 15 pounds under the gill plate. I just hope the water clears up before our weeklong trip at the end of March. That cold muddy stuff is TOUGH TOUGH TOUGH!!

You hit the nail on the head right there buddy. More often than not it's the "putting-life-back-into-perspective" thing always satisfies me most.
