My old neighborhood makes the news
Didn't know if you guys saw the shootout in Brooks yesterday on School House Road, but here is the story: http://www.courier-journal.com/article/20090220/ZONE10/902200378
I grew up there and know john burbank. Went to school with his older brother and sister. Looks like the old boy finally snapped for real.
Re: My old neighborhood makes the news
Sounds about right.Supposedly more than 75% of KY homes have more than one firearm, and who knows how many are in glove compartments, and under the front seat of the car next to you.We had a shoot out here several years ago, miscreant, and prosecetor both dead.

What are you saying, you don't like guns? Guns don't kill people, people kill people.
Re: My old neighborhood makes the news
I always wondered how come people blame guns.
One time I loaded an evil, babykillin, blood running in the streets, "assualt rifle" and I told it to get up and go harm some one and guess what...nothig happened! No matter how much I hooted and hollered at it, it just sat there. I even...gasp... took the safety off and still...NOTHING~! It didnt even, "just go off" like they say they do in the news all the time.
Dissapointed I took it back to the gun show loophole store and told them I didnt want it any more cause it didnt do any of the things Dianne Feinstein said it would! :(
Re: My old neighborhood makes the news
I own guns and would like to have more (ma won't let me $$$) I wonder at what point he decided to go nuts b4 he bought the guns and vests or after? This kinda crap is great anti-gun ammuntion.

Add me to the list of being a proud Concealed Deadly Weapons License permit holder. The course is great for teaching you the reasons why not to shoot someone.

I would be willing to bet where I live the number would be closer to 95%, but yet we have never had a shooting. Wonder why that is? People go nuts in cars and cause accidentas they get drunk and drive and kill people, where is your outrage? Why not pass stricter car laws? Please tell me you made this post in jest!
Re: My old neighborhood makes the news
Hey I'm not against gun ownwership, have a couple myself.I think EVERYONE should own at least one.I'm not applying for a concealed permit, if I want to wear it, plain sight is not aginst the law.Have had sporting weapons since I was 17 yrs old, side arms for quite awhile.Am i afraid of kooks carrying? hmmm, sometimes I hear voices, and they say bad things about a lot of people.

i am tryin to save u some trouble if u read up u cant carry in walmart and a pistol cannot be carried in a vehicle unless it is in the glove box... if u have it laying in the seat adn a police officer sees it.. you might not like his response and or the fine... and if u have a concealed carry and get pulled i would give them your permit with your liscense cause when they run your license they are going to be unhappy that u didnt tell them about the gun.. whether u are carrying that day or not... its a matter of respect to the officer.... its totally up to u on what u do i am just sayin from what they told me to do when i took my carry concealed class....
Re: My old neighborhood makes the news
Ryan you are correct! People that tell me they have a gun in the car, it goes much easer for them. I have had some pretty intense times when they don't; and it is for no reason. My personal policy is if you don't lie you don't get a ticket or go to jail. That is almost all of the time, about most stuff (sometimes the law says we have too no matter what). When you try to cover up and LIE I tend to get a little ticked off and reciprocate. Ryan
Re: My old neighborhood makes the news
I have no reason to carry a concealed weapon. When I do have my pistol in the vechicle, its in a locked case, unloaded, with the three magazines next to it.The rifles, in a case unloaded in plain sight. Also have a sticker on the rear window of the truck, but in any case, I never leave them unwatched while they are in transport.
