Indy Fish and Boat Show report
Drove to Indy Saturday for the Outdoor show. This show is "apples and oranges" to any other shows I've ever attended(Lexington, louisville,Cincinnati). The crowd was incredible,we waited in line(moved quick, thankfully) to get in.The show is spread out over at least three huge buildings with what must be at least a hundred different vendors. You couln't tell we are in recession by the numbers of people buying what I thought were some very overpriced items. All in all it wasnt a bad way to spend a snowy cold day.

THERE were a LOT of overpriced items..........but SOME vendors are very willing to negotiate.
For instance........I purchased gamagatsu needlepoint tubejig heads......THOSE that cost 4.70 for 8.........I purchased the EXACT SAME THING 15 for 5 bucks........
AND I asked the guy if he'd knock off 1 buck per bag if I purchased 10 packs......He did, so I feel like it was a pretty good deal........not only that, but 2 twenty's and I was out the DOOR.....no TAX. so 150 tube jig heads for 40 bucks.......NOT BAD.
Another instance was a BIG dealer that carried Loomis. Now there is NOTHING posted but he told me he'd give me 30% off on ANY LOOMIS on the rack, and he had them all.
Same dealer was willing to mark 15% off their HIGHER end Shimano reels. I'm talking the SERIOUS reels......but hey, if you're in the market, it beats internet prices, no shipping, and is a lot of cases, depending on who you use, NO TAXES......
Later,
Geo
Re: Indy Fish and Boat Show report
I couldn't believe the crowd on opening day? I did notice that word has got out about some of the productive tackle being used on ken lake, because i seen tons of it ( not going to get into detail) being displayed and sold. Also whoever recommended Charlie from Charmer baits to me several weeks ago, thanks i spoke with with and bought quit a few plastics. Good show again, and if you have the cash, now is an excellent time to buy a boat! (Not that i know or anything)
