KY lake reciprocal
I think I remember that the reciprocal agreement on KY lake was renewed between the bridges at Paris and Ken Lake. I am I imagining this or can I fish to Paris on a KY license?
Further, are there any decent ramps on the LBL side to the south down around TN? I remember putting in a Jones Creek (or was it Rushing?) years back but are there any better ramps to the south?
I have only fished north of Fenton for several years and I think I may try to the south some this year...

Re: KY lake reciprocal
I can only answer your first part of the question. Last year you did not need a Tenn. licenses as long as you had a KY licenses between the bridges. Once you went under the Paris bridge, you needed a Tenn. licenses.
I don't know of any ramps---not familiar with LBL ramps. Sorry!

Re: KY lake reciprocal
I appreciate the confirmation on the reciprocal. If the wind is down I will put in at Fenton and run south but if the wind is up trailering south may be a better plan. Thanks!!!

Re: KY lake reciprocal
MarkW is correct, on the reciprocal agreement area. As to the LBL ramps & access ... you may remember that we just had a doozy of a ice storm ... well, they haven't gotten into LBL to clean things up, just yet, and many places are still closed off --- no access !! Look here for info updates on access to LBL areas : http://www.lbl.org/LBLClosureChart.pdf
And you're probably fishing for Bass, but .. just FYI ... if you fish for Crappie - KY now has a 20 fish/day/person creel limit on KY/Barkley. It's still 30/person/day in Tenn's portion of the waters.

Re: KY lake reciprocal
The law changed last year. Ask some the guys d,qued in tournaments. Tn did not honor Ky license in Tn because Ky did not change the size limit on Smallmouth bass. Now I have not checked this years regulations. Tn did go back to a 15" size on smallmouth bass.

Re: KY lake reciprocal
I bet some of the lbl roads back to ramps are in bad shape. I am looking to go down there this weekend and check on my place at Barkley but I don't know if I will venture over to KY so the lbl ramps aren't on my mind yet. Maybe next month.
No worries on the crappie. I like to eat a few just as well as the next guy but there is no way in hades that I would keep even 20 fish. That's too much like work cleaning them and who needs that many fish anyhow? I have spoiled myself eating fresh fish so much that I rarely keep more than a meal's worth.
Thanks for the info!!!

Re: KY lake reciprocal
It sure seems like two states could work things out on something as simple as size and creel limits in a reciprocal area. I can understand differing philosophies but if you just go by the most stringent limits if you are on the "foreign" license then that should work. I am not fishing tourneys and don't keep many bass I am only interested in fishing different water and if I can do it on my KY license then that is a bonus...

Re: KY lake reciprocal
The 18" Smallmouth limit on Ky Lake in Tennessee waters went into effect this year...not last. Now FLW Outdoors put an 18" limit on Smallies on either lake last year in their tournaments...but that only applies to their tournaments...they are not a regulatory agency. The reciprical agreement is still in effect.
