Re: willisburg lake
I hate to here that they might be removing bass from this lake. This is a nice small lake, not over pressured. If that want to remove something, they should think about removing some of the shad. Maybe that will help the bite. The lake does offer some good bass fishing at times.

Re: willisburg lake
like i said i dont know how true this but i hate to think that some of the bass ive put back have been taken out by the game people to benefit a lake that i dont care to fish. isnt that what hatcheries are for?

Re: willisburg lake
Are those muskie still in that lake, or have they been taken out? Someone put a few large muskies in there.

Re: willisburg lake
from talking to biologists and stuff best i can figure is with the lakes fish adn wildlife manages they come in the spring and shock the pregnant females and some males up.... take them to cave run fish hatchery let them spawn and make fry then take the fish back but fish A might not go back to lake A it might go to lake B...... and then they take the fry adn let them grow then disperse them to the appropriate lakes..... i know what u mean jimmy willisburg has been beat up on....

Re: willisburg lake
ive fished there for several years now and ive not heard of them being in there or anyone catching them, but that would be big surprise to hang into one. how long ago did you hear that?

Re: willisburg lake
hows it goin ryan? i can understand them wanting to use the genetics those fish have but that is a privately owned lake. who would o.k. them to mess up a pretty good lake to benefit a state owned or controlled lake? surely willisburg lake is going to benefit from this somehow.......if this really took place

i think that lake is privately owned but kyfw maintain it.... and i dont think willisburg is benefiting from the shocking but other lakes are when the fish are released back into them lakes.... from what i hear lake reba here in richcity has some good bass in it from fish being replaced after spawning.....

Re: willisburg lake
Good bass in reba...I'll have what he's having! :D

Re: willisburg lake
i dont think ive heard of the kyfw doing anything for that lake except maybe checking fish limits or other things that are checked if you were fishin any other private water. wouldnt the lake be listed in the fishing guide if it was being maintained by the kyfw? am i making too big a deal of this? feel free to tell me ryan if i am, and ill keep my frustration to myself

why lord no u aint making to big of a deal i dunno for sure if its listed but if there doing surveys and stuff then there is a real possibility that they do maintain the lake... why no dont keep your frustration to your self about something like that.... terry asks the same questions u do.....
