We won!
BHO told our toops that we won the war and that he is bringing them home! Well at least I think he said we won. Then again I'm not sure he thinks we won. Never mind, I'm not sure what he thinks. I did hear him say he doesn't believe in big government though, that makes me feel better.

Re: We won!
My girlfriends Son is leaving for Afghanistan in April so we are pretty nervous about this now. I guess I don't trust Barry. I know he bashed the GOP for not having certain gear ready for the troops (not sure if it was true anyway) but I have no faith in this party.

Re: We won!
To me the number one goal of any military campaign is victory. I don't think our political leaders should openly say things like, "the war is lost", in the middle of the the war. They shouldn't say the surge isn't working and will never work. Our soldiers should have every confidence that they will win. Leave our polotitians out of war and let our soldiers do their job. I'm tied of our leaders saying things that can and do cause our young men to lose their lives in battle. It's not a game. Now BHO is playing word games for political reasons.
Thank you for your sons sevice to this great nation. He is one of the reasons we are a great nation. Greatness comes from the people of this country, not poloticians that are playing power games. My dad fought in the Big war. He is part of the greatest generation. Thanks to men of his generation we aren't speaking Japanese.

Re: We won!
Don,
I wish the best for your girlfriend's son and thank him for his service.
Mean Morone, I thought the Mission was accomplished??? Yeah, all leaders play word games. I agree, its not a game and they should have a whole lot more respect for the folks who are serving. All too often politicians on both sides of the aisle playing politics when they should be leading.

Re: We won!
Yeah right, pulling the troops and tucking our tails and runnin...Don't forget the new Commander in Chief wants to ***TALK *** his way out of everything and turn the cheek. Or just spend more money and try and buy friendship or peace, you pick.....:(

Thanks Andrew, they are both a bundle of nerves right now. I told them we are going to get out and fish some before he leaves. I hope we get some warmer water soon around here to kick start these bass for him.

Re: We won!
APB, if you think I'm going to defend W you got another thing coming. W was wrong for sounding like the war was over. It might have been fact that the goal of defeating Sadman was accomplished, but the war was far from over. That little photo shoot was wrong. They all need to stop playing games and teat us like adults. A little straight talk would be refreshing.

I'm a member of The Presidential Prayer Team and I will add your girlfriend's son to the prayer list. Members are praying 24 hours/day for the safety of our military personnel. If you would like to send me a PM with his FIRST NAME ONLY and branch of service, I would welcome it.
It's such a great idea to take them fishing and, by all means, take your camera and make LOTS of pictures, lots and lots of pictures. They will help to comfort you and your girlfriend while her son is away. I hope he will be able to have a Yahoo email address while he's in Afghanistan so he can talk to his mother every day or so.
I stayed in contact with my brother by email, on a daily basis, while he was in Iraq. I printed them and made a special file in his memory (KIA-Iraq); occasionally I pull them out and read them.
Tell your girlfriend's son that I said, "Thanks for serving! Please know that we will constantly cover him with our prayers."
