Cumberland Request
Trying to get in a one-day fishin trip to Lake Cumberland before working out of town for two-weeks+. Headin down early, early on Saturday. Forecast to be a beautiful day. Can anyone provide an update of striper activity, water temps and clarity (Jamestown area). Any input might shave some time off the minimal amout that I have on the lake. Thanks in advance guys, it's much appreciated.

Re: Cumberland Request
Water still murky to muddy in spots. Water around Jamestown should be decent but still stained by Cumberland standards. Water temps still very cold for this time of year. Low to mid 40's. Heads of the creeks a little warmer. Stripers have been slow but a few are being caught in the heads of the creeks pulling bait on planers in 10 to 20 feet of water. They are also some fish being caught on bucktails casted in the backs of the creeks as well. Alot of slow days being reported, good luck and give us a report when you return.

Re: Cumberland Request
i have not been but i would be throwing a bucktail. I was down around this time last year and we caught 14 fish in 2 days and all but 1 was on a lure. We only had shiners on our boards but the fish would just hit them quick and let it go. I would be way back in the creek but only as far as you still had some clearer water. Stained water is ok but if you run into muddy water i would look for clearer water for the stripers. By the way last year we were in Beaver about 2 to 3 miles back past the marina. Good luck hope you catch some!

Re: Cumberland Request
Sorry but I don’t have much input for you. I have been fishing in Florida the last 2 weekends so no stipers in the boat lately. I will be out this weekend and try and smack the stripers around a bit if they will let me. All I have heard though is they have been slow, the last weekends I was out before I left it was slow for me. Hopefully a few days of warm weather has woken them up. Good luck, if you see a guy with a white center console don’t catch all my fish! :)
