Another chunk
There's another 410 billion bill with 8,000 earmarks on the way to President Obama's desk. Near as I can tell this is the government's '09 ah...budget. Dems are calling it last year's spending left over from the Bush administration, even though it was passed by this year's congress and will be signed by the new President earmarks and all. The omnibus bill has 19 billion more than the Bush administration had appropriated for '09, but what the heck, 19 bil is chicken feed compared to what congress and the new president have spent in the last 50 days.
The bill was passed by both parties with 60% of the earmarks in it for the Dems and 40% for the Reps. That about mirrors my level of disgust with each party. Mr. Obama will sign the pork laden budget despite his loud campaign promises to go through bills line by line and not tolerate earmarks. He still has a very high approval rating, broken promises and all.
A 650+ billion 'down payment' on a groovy new national health care plan is in the works. But hey, knowing the government is going to take care of us will make us all feel better when we look at the 401k quarterly reports. I'll bet red ink is in shorter supply than ammo these days.
The next social engineering, er I mean stimulus package looms in the distance. According to the President the first one didn't have any earmarks, so I'm sure the next one won't either.
Start teaching your grand kids Cantonese, all that money's gotta come from somewhere.

I just don't see trillions of government spending can work, the feds have proven time and time again they are corrupt and incapable. At this rate Mr. Obama is going to make Jimmy Carter look like Rush Limbaugh.
There's going to be some serious pain in the form of tax increases soon. If he's able to sock the 'rich' and the corporations with most of the bills like he and his liberal supporters want, job losses are light and prices cheap right now compared to what they will be after that.
The bottom line is the United States is going to have to pay back the trillions congress is borrowing and spending. Why the hell can't people see that? Do they believe we can just print up a few trillion and that's that?

Re: Another chunk
Yea, he is writing checks that our childern, and grandchildren are going to have to pay back, they wont have a chance, they will be taxed to the point of poverty. If Bush would of spent this much, in what 50 days, the Libs would of been trying to impeach him, and his approval ratings would of fell even lower. But he does it, and nobody says a word, and his approval ratings go up, go figure!

Man this bozo really takes the cake. Yep I said BOZO, I can't believe how these guys just keep on sticking it to us. He has lied like a dog about what he will or will not do. Of course the Liberal media gives him a free ticket on this stuff.
Does anyone here who voted for him think these plans are a good idea? As far as these approval ratings go who decides that? How do they come up with those figures? Anyone know?

Re: Another chunk
As for approval ratings my guess is telephone polls are conducted at random asking people who are sitting at home because they've lost their jobs whether they approve or disapprove, then they say: "We called 100 people and 76% (or whatever) approved". As for the dollar amounts, man that's a good question right there, I bet anyone in congress couldn't even tell you how they produce the figures they come up with.
