Cleaning Boat Carpet
The only thing I dont like about my boat is the carpet, I have tried carpet cleaners, scrubbing with a brush, vaccuming, and everything else that I know off, and nothing seems to really work like I want it to. Does anyone have any suggestions on what else to try, other than replacing.

Re: Cleaning Boat Carpet
Once you get it clean try spraying it with Scotch Guard. Good for spills and stains. Makes cleanup easier.

Re: Cleaning Boat Carpet
Used a power washer on mine and you wouldn't believe the dirt in that carpet. Just stay away for the edges and keep it 6" to 8" away from the carpet. Mine looks brand new.

Tuff Stuff is good but Resolve is best, I have heard something about vinegar one time

Re: Cleaning Boat Carpet
steam cleaning works on all carpet. Friend of mine owns Kentuckiana carpet cleaning and he cleans his bass boat carpet and it cleans up like brand new. Give him a call and i guarantee you will be happy. His number is 935-2205 and he will give you an estimate over the phone. I highly recommend him. Steam cleaning dont leave soad suds in your carpet and will be dry within a couple hours. he also has 3m scotchguard that will protect it from stains. He sprayed the scotchguard on his boat carpet and we went fishing a few days later and the water was beading up on the carpet. GREAT STUFF. Give him a call. Re: Cleaning Boat Carpet
I'll just take some type of carpet cleaner....spray it on and brush it in.....get up in my boat with a pressure washer and take off.....if your carpet still wants to mat down take a wire brush to it and repeat the pressure washing process....bought my boat with the carpet filthy and now it looks like new

Re: Cleaning Boat Carpet
i always use spot shot. it comes out of the can with a little force and breaks up the stains. spray it on , scrub a little and hose it off. should do the trick unless the stains have been set in for a while. if thats the case you may never get them out.

Re: Cleaning Boat Carpet
Thanks for all the help guys, I appreciate it. I will give Kentuckiana a call, I was thinking about having it cleaned by a proffesional just to see how it does. What do you think he charges for doing a bass boat?

Re: Cleaning Boat Carpet
I just did min a month ago and used the advice of a dealer. Go to Wal-Mart and get a product called Purple Power. You will find it in the automotive section. Spray this on your carpet and then use a pressure washer. It did wonders on my carpet. It is a great degreaser too and is totally biodegradable.
