KY/Barkley -- Yellow Flowers???
Hey guys,
It looks like I'll finally be hitting the water this week, assuming the motor will start...LOL
Anyway, I have been watching the lake levels, and noticed they have been high much of the spring, and I know it has been pretty cool too. Normally by now, the Yellow flowers are starting to open, and we can find fish near them. I don't think they are normally flooded by now, but you do see them on shore, or so I remember.
So my questions, are the flowers up yet? Are there any submurged yet?
Just curious, as this will help me decide between the two lakes, and my starting place.
Thanks a bunch, and will post a report when I get back. I hope to be out on Thursday or Friday.
Re: KY/Barkley -- Yellow Flowers???
There are flowers. Not as many as in the years just before the flood last year but there are some.
Re: KY/Barkley -- Yellow Flowers???
Flowers are up, flowers have bloomed, flowers are flooded, flowers are submerged and some flowers are already dead. Water is HIGHER than normal. Just got back from 4 more days down there. Avg 60 fish a day, 8 keepers per day avg, 16-20 lbs a day best 5 caught fish on Lizards shallow, Lizards medium, tubes, jigs, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, shallow and med crankbaits, shaky heads, rattle traps, on main lake point, secondary points, lead in bank, in front of the brush, in the flowers, ledges and humps. Fished North Barkley one day, North KY one day and South Ky 2 days, pretty much take 1 rod with your favorite bait and you will catch fish, you will weed out the dinks for the keepers but Stevie Wonder with no arms and no legs can catch fish at Ky and Barkley now.
