Anyone been to Dogwood......
I've not been in a few years, and am wanting to take a buddy to "wear out" the bass......
I really don't care to catch a bunch of monsters......but want a bunch :)
Are they moved up yet..............Seems these warmer ways will put them where I need them :)
Finally, I don't have a 10hp, but do have a 24v system and 2 NEW batteries....you suppose I can get around the upper part of the lake without any issues?
Thanks,
Geo
Re: Anyone been to Dogwood......
I've been wondering the same thing. I really want to hit it while there spawning. I think this warm streak will cause a push for the shallows but i havnt been there yet this year. Just keep an eye on the weather when you go, if its too windy you might find yourself in some trouble but if not id say your safe, ive fished it a number of times with just the trolling motor.

Re: Anyone been to Dogwood......
I would never go to Dogwood without a small motor, I guess if you were to just stay close to the main ramp you'd be OK though. Maybe take it around the right hand side to the cove over there, but not back to the East fingers.
We go every September for redear and gills, stay for three days and normally tear them up. It does seem like to me it would produce trophy fish in all categories...

I was planning on fishing down the RIGHT bank to the first finger.......jumping across, and then continuing to the BACK of that finger.............
I've done really GOOD there before, and I have a STRONG trolling motor......
I can go all around Indian and Celina and TIPSAW in the same day, so I think I should be good.
Thanks,
Geo
Re: Anyone been to Dogwood......
I've never been there but planning a trip in early May when the gills get on the nest. I have a Jon boat with 9.9 and hope to find some fish.
Re: Anyone been to Dogwood......
working celina's bank all the way around in one day is doin work, let alone then going to indian. if you have anything over a 60 lb thrust (which you do obviously) and at least 24V (which you do) ur fine anywhere.

Well we did fish Dogwood today..............it was OK......we caught 20 by noon, and then it shut down...........
No size...............fished the TOP of the lake, and it was quite dirty.........
Water temps started out at 62 and hit 65 by NOON.
Caught fish on jigs, crankbaits, flukes, rattletraps........caught 2 keepers.
I was expecting to HAMMER the bass.
And older guy who looked like he fished the lake a TON said the bass had already spawned out..........the week before..................I doubt that.........I didnt' see any beds, but I also didn't catch any females full of eggs............
HM.
