Are these guys serious? Some of these boats are capable of 100+ Mph. With half of Boone National Forrest floating in Cumberland, ya think they are still gonna do it? Man, I wish I sold boat insurance for this one. Note: local boat shops, stock up on stainless steel props, lower units, and band-aids.
Course, when the boat spends more time in the air than the water, I guess the odds of a "bump" are reduced......NOT.
If they run, I sincerely hope all make it through the course with no more than hull scratches. Maybe they ought to run the race in row boats, with 2 man crews, and required safety equipment including a chain saw.

If you go to the lakecmberland.com home page there is a pic of the lake from halcombs landing and the Dam area. I can not see any drift on the lake in this area yet.
I have heard that the temp. no-wake buoys are in place and they have crews cleaning any drift that they find in this area.

I may be wrong, but I think some of these boats ran in the 200 mph range on the OH river during Derby week.
