The Big Lakes
Ha guys I'm headed to Ky/Barkley... does anyone know if the southern ends
of the lakes' are muddy/stained/fishable around the 68/80 bridge area
trying to save some gas if its just blown out.
I wonder what will catch em in these high water conditions I guess flipping:confused:
Thanks

Re: The Big Lakes
Hey lizman, wish I was going with you. Here is my skibby on KY/Barkley. I didn't make it to Barkley but ran past Paris on Thurs. through the fog and caught more fish than I did last year, they were bitting almost anyting you put in the stained water , most were not keepers but I had the time of my life. Friday was a different story by the 68 bridge, there were alot less bites but it seemed to hold better quality fish. My biggest fish was around 5 pounds in muddy water after the storm in about 10 ft. If it were me, I would find a flat close to the mouth of a creek and fish the bottom this time of year. Match the hatch unless the water is really muddy, and don't shy away from muddy water. Good luck

Re: The Big Lakes
I was down there sat to sat and south of the 68 bridge was very heavy stain but when I put the bait in the water I could see it better than you think. And so did the fish I caught two over 5 down south a 5.14 and 5.5 and yes they were less than 2' of water. The main looked soupy but in the creeks it is clearer tight to the cover of in behind bushes.
