Trout advice
Hey Folks,
I am an intermediate, I guess, when it comes to trout fishing. I do pretty well (have caught a couple 5 lbers)
Anyhow, I am going to Lake Calderwood on the TN/NC border this Friday-Sunday to fish for lake trout, browns, rainbows, and brookies.
The lake itself is 400 ft at the deepest part and is more like a deep 5 mile long river.
I usually fish with Gulp minnows, nightcrawlers, in-line spinners, and spoons. Anybody have any other tricks or advice for trout fishing?
I am nervous since its such a far trip and I have high expectations.
Thanks!

Re: Trout advice
you're out of my realm of knowledge...you really don't have to go far to get out of my realm..but I"m mainly a shallow streams and river guy. I've never fished for lake trout.
Hope you have good luck. Do they have guides for lake trout trips? Lining up 1/2 day trip with one of those guys just to get the hang of it might be the trick for you.

Re: Trout advice
Troll, Troll and Troll some more. Assuming your fishing from a boat. If your not fish where a creek runs into the lake.

Re: Trout advice
I am planning on doing some trolling about 15-20 ft deep.
Not really wanting to target just the lakers, although i would love to catch one.
Any tips on lures to throw or techniques where the creeks flow into the lake? This lake has 3-4 major creeks that flow into it and I have heard this part has the best fishing...
Thanks!
