My son was a co-angler in the ABA tournament on Rough river a couple of week's ago. They were fishing at George's branch and heard someone shooting up the hill from them, when they yelled to let them know someone down there fishing a couple more shoot's were fired this time striking the water within about 30 yard's of the boat. They heard a atv start-up and take off. I told him he should have reported it to the sheriff,
it might keep someone from getting shot.
Dave
I was at Taylorsville yesterday and heard what sounded to me like shotgun blasts, several.
I just started humming the theme from Deliverance (Dueling Banjos) to my fishing partner.

You sure have a pretty mouth!
They have that gun range at Taylorsville now. I heard several shots up there two weeks ago.

Whats next Pirates? This is crazy...
I've heard that even Pittsburgh has pirates. Gasp. !!!!!
I love fishing but it brings out the worst in people sometimes. People can get selfish thinking they own public waters. Its not just country folks either here in Kentucky some people that live around elkhorn are insane. Part of it is people leaving trash and tearing up fences but thats not the case with some landowners. I have had a few let me access the creek and park but it gets harder every year. I have seen signs in the creek itself as if the landowners think they own the creek.

Can't they own the creek bottom? So your not trespassing if your floating through and never set foot on solid ground?
this is just insane people getting shot at trying to fish... these people just havent shot at the right person yet....I am sure there are more than a few people in america that would more than willingly return fire... and i cant understand why these people who are shooting are not getting justice served against them...... but i do applaud the fishermen leaving the scene....

Not to sound crazy, but I would be one to return the favor.
In many cases the its a matter for local courts and they dont bother. The case in the Classic with Gary Klien they didnt even bother doing anything and they had it on camera with two witnesses. In case you didnt know justice in small towns is terrible. You can get away with alot in small communities. I know people who beat their wives so bad they ended up in hospitals, stole from other people, drugs you name it. If you know the right people you can get away with alot.
