Walleyes, what would you do?
I am considering fishing a new lake relatively close to my house located in southern Indiana for walleyes, I have never targeted walleyes before and to make matters more complicated I have never fished this lake before. How would you go about locating and catching walleyes in an entirely "new to you" lake (without a guide)? I do have a boat and a good lowrance finder. By the way, the lake is Brookville and I will be fishing it within the next 2 weeks. Appreciate any help on the matter.

Troll Shad rap's on the flats, crawler rigs in the more shallow areas, Leech's work also at this time.
Call Steve at Steves marine in Liberty and tell him ProVle sent you. :)
Good luck and have fun!
Re: Walleyes, what would you do?
Was there last wednesday and caught some walleyes on jigs tipped with minnows. We were fishing standing timber in 10-13 ft of water. We also caught some crappie and bass. Hope this helps. Also you can check out Tag Knobbes website. Hes a guide on the lake and knows it well. He will usually have an updated fishing report for the lake. PM me if you want some more detailed help.

Also try to find some weeds and fish it with a 5-6in swimbait. Sounds like a bass technique but it works on post spawn walleyes

Thanks, I am looking forward to hitting the lake soon.
