Should water come out of batteries?
Ok I bought a new battery charger yesterday and I charged my batteries overnight. There seemed to be a little water coming out of each battery where the caps are attached. The caps were on tight just wondering if thats why we have to check the water level. I usually check the level once a month and seem to always have to fill it back up.
Re: Should water come out of batteries?
No, this is an indication that they were overcharged.
Re: Should water come out of batteries?
also the caps should be off or at least loosened when charging

Depends.........If the batteries were DEAD, and low, and you filled them with water, then charged......you will lose water due to expansion.
If the batteries were dead, and you charged, then topped off and charged again, and you lost water...........probably overcharged.......your charger is not "smart" enough to stop charging, or bad charger.
If it is HOTTER than hell where you charged them..........good chance you lost water due to evaporation or charging.
Lots of reasons to lose water.......
I put a flowrite system on my boat a couple months ago........FANTISTIC product........every time I charge, I check the water, and usually have to add about 1 cup total to 2 batteries........That works out to about 1/2 to 3/4 ounce of water per cell.
One other thing......when the battery is completely charged, if your charger is BAD, you might hear is sizzling........if you do.......you might have a bad charger.........
