Patoka Report
Went to Patoka yesterday. Put in at Walls and fished around Osborne. Wasn't there 20 minutes and had a 4lber in the boat. Caught her in the grass on a flat with a texas craw. Kept fishing with no bites. Seen pods of fry. Tore the fry up to try to get a bite, with no luck. Caught 2 more keepers (squeekers) in a pocket on a topwater walker. Went back to the same spot I caught the first fish and wore it out with a buzzbait. Caught another solid 4 lber. Fished til dark. All in all, 6 fish with 4 keepers.
Water was clear and 80 Degrees. Grass was chopped up from the pleasure boaters cutting the flats short. Found a couple small pods of fry. Bluegill were all over the banks. Small bass were roaming also. Small bass looked to be schooled up in the middle of the creeks. I don't think I have seen so many big carp in one day before. Would have loved to bowfished.

Re: Patoka Report
Been seeing lots of bowhunters there. Could use a couple thousand more.

The Visitors Center will take the carp you get to feed the eagle. Something to think about.

Re: Patoka Report
Hopefully I'll be back up there this coming weekend or next week sometime. I love chasing the fry! Need to replace my trolling motor steering cable. Was Pming the gears and all and the cable broke. I feel that I didn't make my recess box long enough and it puts the cable wire in a bit of a bind. Got 5 years out of it. Then again I am pretty hard on the whole thing. $36.
Good luck everyone.
