The elite fisherman showed everyone how good they really are. Hopefully the boats following them around will not cause any issues and not effect the outcome. I wish I could have went down and followed some of them around and watched them. I don't fish a lot down there but I'm sure I could have learned a lot from them.
Wonder how much time Dave Stewart will spend watching and the following the best? This is a guides dream to have these guys fishing in there back yard.

Surely this is a joke?? I don't think many of them will be fishing a spot he doesn't know about. He has had those guys follow him during practice. Yes, they are all good and got to that level because of thier skills and dedication, however, there is no way they can learn a lake in a 4 or 5 day practice as well as a guide that spends over 200 days a year on the water.

I am not following anyone. Actually had one of them follow me to three ledges this past Sunday, so who is following who? Actually I guided yesterday, my client and I decided to cancel today with the rain and north wind..so even though I could be out there looking for them I am home ...I will be guideing tomorrow and on Saturday so even if I wanted to follow someone I don't have time.
Also, it would not make sense to follow some of them since they booked trips with me to prepare for the tournament...I would be following them to the spots I showed them...lol.
Not saying I can't learn something from them...these are some of the best in the world..but professional courtesy in my mind would keep me from following any of them while they are working...as it should them when I am working...but some don't subscribe to that way of thinking.
Let a guy like Dave Stewart fish Elite Series on KY Lake and he would provide some stiff competition. What is so amazing about the Elite guys (like Skeet, KVD, Ike, etc.) is they finish strong on most bodies of water they fish. These guys do well in Alabama one week, Virginia the next, KY the next, NY the next and so on... 1)That's amazing! 2)These are not little dinky lakes they are catching fish on. AND 3)They have to, in most cases, deal with crowded lakes, fans and pleasure boaters.
These guys are GOOD!!!
Thanks for the vote of confidence but not sure how I would fare with these guys in that tournament...I would have to totally refocus myself from guiding to tournament fishing. I never ever think that just because I am the guide in the boat that I am the better angler...I have fished with many of the top folks from BASS and FLW and can tell you first hand...these guys are fishing machines. Every sport has to have it's coaches and that is what I found many years ago that my niche falls more into the coaching ie..teaching side of the realm. I have guided a lot of folks and taught a lot of folks that have made some big money in the tournament game...but not sure I could compete heads on with them...not sure I would really want to. I am content with my niche in the industry and have gotten a lot of self satisfaction in knowing that I may have contributed a little to the success of a lot of tournament anglers and just for fun sport anglers . I certainly would be the first to say, that most of the knowledge I have that I pass along came from being in the same boat as a lot of very good anglers and learning from them.
After what went on at Guntersville with Boyd Duckett and Kevin Langhill which resulted in Langhill being suspended from the Elite Series, here is something respectful that we all could take note of.
www.bassfan.com
"Boyd Duckett found only three schools of quality fish during practice and couldn't get at any of them today – there was always another angler there when he pulled up. He weighed just 10-09.
One of those places was the area in which Bobby Lane spent the day.
"I went by there four times and he was there every time," he said. "I was thinking, Geez, Bobby, give it a break. You're killing me here.
"But now I know why he sat there all day and I don't blame him."
He'll probably start practice over again tomorrow.
"There's still some points out there that could be valuable for the Classic (he's 27th in the AOY race), and if I could pull it up to 65th, that'd be huge. I'll just go fishing and try to stay out of everybody's way, and maybe I'll find something."
