The elites will be just south or you, with a dozen or so spectator boats on most.
The FLW tour guys practice starts this weekend (I believe).
Also, the pleasure boaters are out in full force too on the weekends - so you will definitely have some company, but it shouldn't be too bad. The only time the traffic gets to me, is during ledge time, when the bigger boats will cruise right past you, especially off of the main channels, as well as the other boats camping out on the productive ones. But there is plenty of water here to go around.
I haven't read Daves report yet this week, however, I would say the ledges are really heating up as far as better quality fish, however, you can probably still have a good time with smaller fish up shallow.
It's going to be crowded this weekend so I'd recommend planning on doing some night fishing. That can be someo of the most productive fishing of the year if you don't mind the whole "disorientation factor" of fishing in the dark.
Heck, you don't even need to leave JC to have some great night action. I'd fish the points and the rip rap with texas rigged chameleon craw Hook Some Bass tubes.
Deff plannin on throwin some tubes ... Hopefully the joy riders will turn in early this weekend
